Common Grounds Press Announces "Material Publics": SUMMER 2026

Common Grounds Press is pleased to announce the forthcoming release of Material Publics, a new long-form publication by Taj Pollard (T.P.) exploring public space, civic life, material culture, and contemporary urban environments.

Coming July 2026, Material Publics brings together visual research, photography, essays, commentary, and speculative studies investigating how cities continue to transform alongside technological, ecological, and social change.

Developed through an interdisciplinary approach to publishing and image-making, the project examines the relationship between architecture, infrastructure, memory, public environments, and collective experience. Moving between documentation and critical reflection, the publication considers how material conditions shape civic imagination and everyday life.

Designed in conversation with artist monographs, exhibition catalogs, independent theory journals, and archival publications, Material Publics emphasizes image sequencing, spatial pacing, and visual narrative as central editorial forms.

Material Publics marks an ongoing expansion of Common Grounds Press toward interdisciplinary publishing focused on cities, material ecologies, public art, architecture, and cultural research.

Independent publishing for material culture, public life, and contemporary visual research.
